Team description

St. Albert Impact BU16 APDL is an elite football team representing a vibrant community just outside Edmonton, Alberta. The St. Albert Soccer Association proudly holds a National Club License and offers programs across all levels of the game, including League1 Alberta, the Alberta Player Development League (APDL), competitive club soccer, house leagues, and grassroots development. This dynamic and entertaining squad thrives on new challenges and is eager to showcase its talent on the international stage at the IberCup Cascais in Portugal. Under the leadership of Head Coach Jason Antunes, who took charge in August 2024, the team has grown into a cohesive unit of versatile players whose combined strengths make them a formidable force. Supported by coaches Andrew Rose, Rui Vale and Kevin Jones, the team has focused on building identity, grit, and competitiveness in every training session—while embracing their role as ambassadors for their club, city, and country. International competition is nothing new for this group. They recently gained valuable experience at the 2025 PDT Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona, which provided insight into the demands of global tournaments and prepared them for IberCup. Domestically, the team has also made its mark in APDL Provincial Championships and APDL Cup matches, consistently demonstrating skill and resilience. As IberCup approaches, the team is turning up the intensity, and the excitement! Training sessions are packed with tactical challenges, and plenty of competitive spirit. Recent exhibition and league games have been a blast, with the squad racking up wins and showing off their creativity on the pitch. Every match feels like a step closer to Portugal, and the players are buzzing with confidence and hunger to take on the world stage.
